Core Values

In this complex society of shifting allegiances and moral compromise, Living Hope Church remains steadfast in worship and obedience to God and affirms and upholds these basic core values as an expression of our devotion to Him.

We value the Word of God.

The Bible is the Word of God, the full and complete revelation of Jesus Christ and the plan and history of redemption. We believe that “all Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness,” and therefore pattern our thoughts, opinions and behavior after its’ teaching. (2 Timothy 3:16)

We value Corporate Worship.

Corporate worship exalts God and is an essential spiritual discipline in the life of the Christ-follower. Corporate worship should lift up the name of Jesus Christ through the power of the Spirit, and as a result encourages, equips, matures and unites us as the body of Christ. (Ephesians 4:11-16; Hebrews 10:24-25)

We value a Consistent Witness.

Our private lives must be consistent with our public testimonies. We “make it our aim to be well pleasing to God,” for “we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.” (2 Corinthians 2:14; 5:9)

We value the Work of the Kingdom

It is the responsibility of every believer to participate in the work of the Great Commission through the power of the Holy Spirit, both locally and globally. We believe the “effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much,” and we joyfully accept the promise of Psalms 2:8; “Ask of me, and I will surely give you the nations as your inheritance.” We endeavor to heed the Master’s command to “Occupy until I come,” and to do so with generosity and excellence. (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-20; Acts 1:8; Luke 19:12-14; James 5:16)

We value the Community of Worshippers.

God has composed this body of believers from all cultures and generations to care for one another so that we may “grow up in all aspects into Him who is the Head, even Christ.” Each individual believer is significant, and the proper working of every believer in the body “causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.” (1 Corinthians 12:25; Ephesians 4:16)
